Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is eyebrow micropigmentation?
Eyebrow micropigmentation is a semi-permanent aesthetic procedure that enhances the shape, symmetry, and color of the eyebrows by implanting pigment into the superficial layer of the skin. It is performed using a specialized machine, providing long-lasting and natural-looking results. This technique is ideal for those who want well-defined eyebrows without the need for daily makeup.
2. What is the difference between Microblading, Powder Brows, and Combo Brows?
I will explain each technique to help you choose the best option based on your skin type and the result you desire:
Microblading:
Manual technique that creates fine, hair-like strokes. Ideal for dry skin and an ultra-natural finish. It is not recommended for oily or combination skin, as the strokes tend to blur.
Powder Brows (ombre):
Machine technique that creates a soft, shaded effect, similar to applying brow powder or makeup. Perfect for all skin types, especially oily skin. It provides a defined, elegant, and smooth finish.
Combo Brows:
Combination of microblading (hair-like strokes in the front) and powder shading for the rest of the brow. It is ideal if you want a natural look with more definition and longevity. During your consultation, we will assess which technique best suits your needs.
3. How long does eyebrow micropigmentation last?
The duration varies between 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, sun exposure, aftercare, and lifestyle. An annual touch-up is recommended to keep them looking fresh.
4. Does the procedure hurt?
Don't worry! A topical anesthetic is applied before and during the procedure. Most of my clients feel only mild discomfort or no pain at all.
5. How long does a session last?
Each session lasts between 2 to 3 hours, as it includes the initial consultation, personalized eyebrow design, selection of the ideal pigment, and the complete procedure.
6. How do the eyebrows look right after the procedure?
Initially, they will appear darker than usual, which is completely normal. Over the following days, they will soften, and the final tone will settle between 4 to 6 weeks after the procedure.
7. Do I need a touch-up?
Yes. A touch-up is recommended between 4 to 8 weeks after your initial appointment. During this session, we adjust details, reinforce the pigment, and perfect the result.
8. Can I get micropigmentation if I have previous work?
It depends on the condition of your current eyebrows. If you have very dark pigment or poorly placed pigment, a prior removal with PhiRemoval may be necessary before applying a new design. I will assess your case personally.
9. Which technique is best for my skin type?
- Dry skin: Suitable for any technique (microblading, powder, or combo).
- Combination/oily skin: It is recommended to avoid microblading alone. Powder or combo are ideal.
- Mature or sensitive skin: Softer techniques like powder brows work best.
10. Is the procedure safe?
Yes, at MG Velvet Pro, We use high-quality pigments, disposable needles, and strictly follow hygiene and safety protocols to ensure your well-being at all times.
